Present status and prospects of institutions of regional development

Abstract
The paper considers the problem of organizing regional development institutions, examines the adequacy of proposals for so-called regional development agencies. The author summarizes the experience of managing development institutions in Russian regions, concludes that there is a need to improve the quality of executable functions of planning and preparation of analytical solutions at the regional level of government.
