The article investigates methodological and methodical approaches to the assessment of sustainable urban development, taking into the consideration Russia's joining the members of OECD. The focus is made on the systematization of criteria and socially meaningful indicators for the integrated assessment and monitoring of the sustainable development of Russia's cities, basing on the OECD experience.
